At the invitation of the United Nations Development Program, the delegation of the China World Peace Foundation attended the Conference on Great Tumen Initiatives held in Gangwon Province’s Pyeongchang city in the Republic of Korea from September 27th to 28th. Representatives from governments and NGOs of China, Republic of Korea, Russia, Mongolia and Japan conducted exchanges on policies, resources, markets and opportunities relating to the cooperative items among the governments of countries in the North-eastern Asian region. CWPF chairman, Mr. Li Ruohong said, “what’s most mentionable is that all the provinces and cities of the bordering countries in the Great Tumen Area have taken actions in addition to the coordination of interests between the central governments of various countries , bringing new hope to GTI.
At the grand reception, Chairman of the China World Peace Foundation, Mr. Li Ruohong, together with the provincial governor of Gangwon Province Mr. Choi Moon-Soon and vice minister of finance of the Republic of Korea Mr. Shin Je-Yoon recalled the scene where they watched Pyeongchang’s procedure for application of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games at the World Sports Meeting held in Britain in April this year. They then proposed a toast in a traditional oriental way to the friendship between China and the Republic of Korea.
